GPM Pressure Washer

If you are looking for a pressure washer you have probably noticed the PSI rating. Often times people judge the appropriateness of a pressure washer based solely upon the PSI rating. However, there is another measure that can more accurately determine how well a pressure washer will perform for you.

GPM or gallons per minute tells you the volume of water that the pressure washer can supply in a given period of time. This is important because even with a high PSI if water flow is low it will take too long to get a given job done. So, a 4 GPM pressure washer can do the job twice as fast as a 2 GPM pressure water. You must keep in mind that your water supply must provide enough water to keep up with your pressure washer’s GPM rating otherwise you will not have enough water to properly do the job.

So, when you’re looking for a pressure washer be sure to take into account the GPM as well as PSI. By taking both of these ratings into account you will be sure to select the appropriate pressure washer for your needs.
